Savannah's Saturday...cont'd.

Savannah-Cam...captures a Saturday morning

This is some of what I found on the camera when I got home from work one Saturday morning. B had a blast watching her creative juices flow....I got to see the finished works, deriving just as much, if not more, Joy. It was hard to pick only a few...

Say 'cheese', little brother...

"I give up, take my picture but pleeeeeaaaassssse just let me sleep..."

Scene from 'FairlyOddParents' or how B looks mid-morning while hoping I won't be late getting home...

The roaming Santa hat....by:Savannah

It started with Snowbell and then everyone simply had to have a turn....all except Oscar...hmmm, smart dog...hiding upstairs under the covers, I imagine...

Malcolm utters a silent prayer to Bast..."Please let this be over...."
...but the Gargoyle seems quite pleased

The Savannah-Cam....continued

"Look at me, I'm gorgeous, dahling..."

Slightly off-kilter with the self-portrait...but every so lovely, no?

..thus began a legacy...

Mr.Scruff and Wednesday...the way they were.

Here's a few pics of the poor wee soul.....you can see how he got his name!

We're not even sure if Wednesday is his biological mother as she looked to be aborting when she was found....but she took him in and nursed him as best she could, even in her weakened state. She has since taken up a more-or-less permanent residence at the Cat Hospital - having been spayed and returned to great health.

Mr.Scruff comes to visit....

Rescued from the 'mean streets' of Hamilton by a cat loving friend - Mr.Scruff and his adoptive mother, Wednesday (they were actually found on a Tuesday) - came to the Cat Hospital where I work to be rehabilitated and adopted. Mr.Scruff was in a terrible state and surely used up a life or two of his nine in order to survive his early days....but survive, he did.

My sister-in-law ended up adopting him and he has blossomed into a happy, healthy, kitten. He stayed with us for a week while she was on vacation and rather enjoyed his sojourn at Club Kitty...

Awww...too cute!

Bananagrams!

Savannah announced a short while ago that she wanted to learn to read....(insert panic here - exactly HOW do I go about teaching her to read?). So we bought some Bananagrams....sort of a portable Scrabble-esque creation consisting of lettered tiles inside a nifty banana-shaped bag.

We build words...nonsense and real....and generally have a good time. She keeps wanting to play, so we must be doing something right!

PS. I highly recommend them for anyone who loves playing with words (as I do)..its heaps of fun and if you have readers, then the actual game will be a blast!

Washing the dishes?

Savannah decided this evening that I should put my feet up while she took care of the dishes. Overjoyed, I was more than happy to surrender that responsibility! She carefully washed, dried and put away....*sigh*....what a great kid! I got to watch a whole TV show!

The Rainbow Experiment..

During a painting session, the Rainbow Experiment was born....

Blob layers of colour...

Tilt and swirl....

Spread and smear....
Super cool!

Yes, he's still here....

Just in case anyone was wondering if Sebastian was still living with us....

..he periodically emerges from the bat cave to remind us of his charming self...

Making orange juice...

Savannah decided to try and make fresh-squeezed orange juice using some clementines. After much squeezing and juicing....she decided she preferred the process to the final product.

Dismantling the jack o' lantern...

A jack o' lantern in theory only (it never actually got carved)....it was time to re-use our Halloween/Samhain friend. First the slicing and scooping....

Then the baking and pureeing....all packaged and frozen to be used at a later date for pies, soups, cookies, muffins or, Sebastian's fave - pancakes!
